Job Description
Production Planning:
Develop detailed production plans, schedules, and workflows to meet manufacturing deadlines.
Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available for production.
Process Improvement:
Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
Equipment and Machinery Management:
Ensure that machines and tools used for bolt and fastener production (e.g., heading machines, threading machines, and heat treatment furnaces) are maintained and operating efficiently.
Schedule regular preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
Quality Control and Assurance:
Implement quality control procedures to ensure that bolts, screws, and machine components meet specifications (e.g., dimensions, tensile strength, corrosion resistance).
Perform root cause analysis for defects and take corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
Workforce Management:
Supervise and train operators and technicians on production processes, equipment usage, and safety procedures.
Ensure efficient allocation of tasks and address any performance-related issues.
Technical Documentation:
Prepare and maintain process documentation, production reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure accurate records of production data, such as output, defects, and machine downtime.
Cost Control and Efficiency:
Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Optimize machine settings and production cycles to increase efficiency.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure the shop floor adheres to safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
Promote a safety-first culture and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaboration with Other Departments:
Work closely with design, quality, and procurement teams to address production issues and meet product specifications.
Provide input on design changes to improve manufacturability.
