Storage Administration Tasks:

• Check Power Max health checks, indicating the status of various system components and overall health

• Snapshot creation efficiently by sharing snapshot deltas which are changes made since the last snapshot directly in the Storage Resource Pool

• Monitoring in Power Max storage, creating a Storage Resource Pool (SRP) to logically group storage resources, enabling efficient capacity and performance management

• By default a single SRP is preconfigured, but additional ones can be created to segregate workloads and apply specific data reduction policies

• Better control over storage utilization, performance optimization and the application of data reduction techniques like compression and deduplication

• Troubleshooting if any performance issues and connectivity problems within the storage network. Implement and configure a new backup and recovery solution

• Create new storage group for Storage groups allow you to monitor the performance of specific sets of devices, providing more targeted insights into resource utilization and potential bottlenecks

• Port groups aggregate multiple ports under a common configuration and provide a stable anchor point for virtual machines connecting to labeled networks

• Create Host groups allow you to logically segment your network based on function, department, or other criteria. This can improve network security and make it easier to troubleshoot issues

• Create a new masking view to grant access to that server without affecting other servers
• Examine the storage logs for root cause of issues such as performance bottlenecks, storage errors or configuration problems

• Create new share for Windows-based clients to easily connect to and access data stored on the Power Max NAS storage

• Tree quota expand to create and expand tree quotas modify existing tree quotas to expand their capacity

• Give soft quota limit to expand a soft quota, modify the Soft Limit capacity and/or Hard Limit capacity fields as per request

• Create file system on Power Max NAS storage for proper allocation of storage resources, enabling efficient file sharing and data management within the NAS environment

• Expand the volume storage capacity available to a host or application, allowing for growth without disrupting ongoing operations

• Increase user data space in storage capacity allocated for user data files and directories, as opposed to system or metadata storage

• Create new departmental drive to isolate data for different applications or users, improving security and manageability

• Create new LUN in PMAX SAN. LUNs allow you to divide a physical storage volume into smaller, manageable units

• Create an existing LUN in the GUI within a specific storage group to grant access to that LUN for the hosts associated with that storage group

• Monitor critical alerts after updating the firmware and addressing environmental factors, continue monitoring the system to confirm that alerts are resolved

• Raise hardware-related incidents with vendor (OEM) and co-ordinate to resolve the issues

• Expand volume for ENAS configurations, integrated with overall storage provisioning and management for file-based storage

• Set the bandwidth utilization during peak business hours using the synchronous performance rule

• Identify expired or unused snapshots from snapshot management features for deletion

• Ensure proper security procedures and secure deletion methods when deleting sensitive data
