Department: Department of Probation Services
Location: Adams County, PA
Compensation: $21.12/hour
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

About the Role
The Probation Officer Aide supports DPS operations by working directly with offenders and assisting Probation Officers with essential supervision tasks. This includes conducting Court Reporting Network (CRN) evaluations, coordinating Alcohol Highway Safety School, and supporting the House Arrest Program. The Aide also provides administrative and operational support to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a career that blends public service, structure, and daily variety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Court Reporting Network (CRN) evaluations and all related tasks.
- Schedule Alcohol Highway Safety School classes for offenders.
- Respond to license restoration requests and submit required documentation.
- Support court operations, including DNA collection, photo capture, and obtaining post-court signatures.
- Establish and manage electronic monitoring schedules using departmental guidelines.
- Process electronic monitoring referrals, data entries, and vendor communications.
- Notify the Clerk of Courts to assess applicable electronic monitoring fees.
- Enter information into case management and County Intermediate Punishment (CIP) systems.
- Attend required meetings, training sessions, and seminars.
- Associate's degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science, Social Work, Business, Paralegal, or a related field preferred.
- OR high school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Must successfully complete and maintain CRN and Defensive Driving certifications after hire.
- Must pass all required background checks and clearances, including fingerprinting.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30lbs as needed.
- Frequent communication with clients, staff, and external partners.
- Work may involve occasional exposure to individuals with communicable diseases.
