Rental Specialist This position is in our Tool Rental Department. Experience in Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) Rental Equipment and/or working as a mechanic in the OPE area is a must. Experience with all types of OPE equipment (e.g., Stihl, Husqvarna) is required. Sales associates provide excellent customer service by listening to customers, helping them identify and clarify their needs, and offering accurate information and product recommendations.

Experience in rental, maintenance of equipment, and strong people skills is required.

• Smile and greet all customers who enter the department or come within a normal speaking radius of the sales associate; use open-ended questions such as "How may I assist you today?" or "What can I help you find today?"
• Practice excellent customer service and listen intently to customer needs.
• Direct customers to the appropriate products for their needs.
• Provide product knowledge and technical assistance related to selection, use, and installation of sold products to build customer confidence.
• Perform sales counter functions such as POS, Total Rental, order entry, special orders, rental contracts, warranty contracts, and price lookup.
• Handle telephone inquiries politely and provide the information sought by the customer.
• Merchandise products on shelves or fixtures according to planograms.
• Make new product recommendations to store management based on customer feedback.
• Write sales orders and special orders using the point-of-sale systems to ensure accurate processing by suppliers.
• Assist in cycle counting of inventory according to a management schedule.
• Stock shelves with incoming product as necessary and sign/merchandise products in the store as needed.
• Ensure product is faced and fronted at the start and end of each shift, and as time permits.
• Notify regular customers about new products and upcoming store promotions.
• Maintain a clean and organized sales counter and selling area to meet customer expectations.
• Assist with customer loading of items purchased in the store as necessary.
• Use the Resource Center to report pricing or description discrepancies.

• Possess working knowledge of company and store security measures.
• Understand common theft techniques and remain vigilant, reporting suspicious activity to management.
• Follow company safety guidelines and participate in regular store safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager or qualified corporate or platform representatives.
