Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an overflow, post-surgical, and observation unit, with recent travel experience and a compact or TN license required.
Responsibilities- Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit with a post-surgical and observation patient population
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 or 1:7
- Day shifts are 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
- Weekend and on-call coverage required as needed
- Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles, though floating between campuses is rare
- Transitioning to a team nursing model with LPN support
- Cerner EMR is used; experience preferred
- Unit cares for general med/surg, overflow, post-surgical, and observation patients
- Must be willing to work at least 1-2 major holidays if they fall within assignment (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- All requested time off must be submitted up front
- Former employees must have at least a one-year separation before being considered for rehire
- Dress code and scrub requirements will be provided upon assignment
- No local candidates accepted within a 100-mile radius
- Active TN or compact RN license required; no pending licensure accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
- At least 1 completed previous travel assignment (no first-time travelers considered)
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
- BLS certification required
- Travelers must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
- Driver's license and vaccination status must be provided for consideration
