Job Overview: Responsible for managing and accurately documenting the handling of all biological samples and reference materials, including the receipt, packing, shipping, archiving, and inventory management, as well as maintaining the sample inventory areas and associated equipment in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company Policies.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the handling of biological samples and reference standards internally, including receipt, storage, inventory, disposal, and shipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), study protocols and sponsor guidance documents.
- Manage receipt, log-in, and custodial transfer of biological samples to internal laboratories for analysis.
- Routine swipe measurements by LSC for appropriate destruction of packaging materials.
- Ensure all samples and storage containers are labeled clearly with a unique identity.
- Ensure appropriate storage conditions for all incoming samples with guidance.
- Ensure all samples are stored adequately, avoiding sample spillage and contamination.
- Maintain accurate records of sample storage, including location, conditions from the time of receipt to the time of destruction, return shipment, and documentation of any excursions from the required storage conditions.
- Prepare sample inventories and sample requests/receipts for archiving.
- Arrange sample disposal when advised by the Sponsor, and properly document sample disposition.
- Package biological samples and ensure accurate completion of all required documentation for the shipment.
- Prepare study materials for domestic and international shipment according to SOPs, Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLP) for archiving materials and Federal Shipping Regulations as they apply to shipping services, or courier for domestic and international shipments.
- Notify study supervisors, and sponsors of shipping tracking numbers and verify that packages have arrived at their destinations.
- Forecast necessary storage space requirements for current and upcoming studies.
- Bachelor's degree in related field with some lab or quality experience.
- Knowledge and ability to apply GCP/GLP and Part 11 Code of Federal Regulations, GCP/ICH Guidelines, and other applicable regulations or guidelines.
