Job Description

The Civil Engineer/Designer will play a crucial role in assisting with the daily operations of specific projects, focusing on plan production, quality assurance, and technical engineering. This position requires collaboration with the Project Manager to execute technical designs in AutoCAD 3D, with responsibilities including site civil engineering tasks such as road design, utilities, storm drain and storm water management, sanitary sewer, site grading, and sediment and erosion control.

The role may also involve occasional client contact and phone calls.

Responsibilities

+ Assist with the daily operations of specific projects, ensuring plan production and quality assurance.

+ Collaborate with the Project Manager to execute technical designs using AutoCAD 3D.

+ Execute pre-established engineering design tasks related to site civil engineering, including road design, utilities, storm drain and storm water management, sanitary sewer, site grading, and sediment and erosion control.

+ Occasionally assist with client contact and phone calls.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D with at least 7 years of experience.

+ At least 7 years of experience in land development or transportation design.

+

Experience with Montgomery, Baltimore County, or DC permitting, grading, sediment control, erosion control, stormwater design, and subdivision design.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ A degree in civil engineering is ideal for a potential permanent position, but not required for the temporary role.

+ Experience in Civil 3D is preferred; however, proficiency in AutoCAD is acceptable.

+ Background in civil engineering is preferred, with structural or architectural experience considered. Experience in hydraulics/hydrology is a significant plus.

Work Environment

The team consists of about 15 employees, promoting a close-knit environment with frequent company outings. Due to the smaller size, engineers are involved in a broader scope of project tasks compared to larger firms, where employees may only focus on one aspect of a project. The firm is growing in Germantown, offering the possibility of transitioning from a temporary to a permanent position based on performance.

All promotions are internal, fostering a culture of growth and development within the organization.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
