The Health Center Association of Nebraska (HCAN) is actively recruiting a Behavioral Health Provider to join our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Gering, Nebraska, where you will provide high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health care for all. Utilizing an integrated care approach, our providers work collaboratively to address all aspects of patients’ health and believe that exceptional, compassionate care should be accessible and affordable for all.

Medical, dental, behavioral health, and outreach services are coordinated to ensure well-rounded, comprehensive care.

• Assess, diagnose, and treat mental health and substance abuse disorders
• Create and adjust treatment plans, offer therapy and crisis intervention, manage patient care, and advocate for mental health awareness
• Meet with clients on an emergency basis to evaluate the probability of harm to self and others and make recommendations for further care
• Provide substance abuse screening, education, and brief interventions
• Participate in Clinical Behavioral Health on-call coverage schedule
• Prepare and maintain treatment records and reports
  
  Maintain confidentiality of client records pertaining to treatment

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health related field
• Current license in good standing as a Mental Health Practitioner in the state of Nebraska (LIMHP, LCSW, LMFT)
• Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental dysfunctions
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
• Demonstrated professional commitment to providing services to medically under-served individuals in a public health setting
• Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders
