Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the Department Supervisor with the overall output, quality, condition and capability of the warehouse, including receiving, picking, packing, storage and shipping of products to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of a Warehouse Associate II and Material Handler II.
- Assist Warehouse Associates in prioritizing work and assign them to work areas as needed.
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, disciplining, and addressing employee complaints.
- Use KPIs and other metrics to drive continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, productivity, and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with Customer Service on issues and special projects.
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor with personnel issues (time off requests, timecard approval).
- Serve as a backup in all areas of the warehouse by maintaining sufficient knowledge.
- Coordinate with Human Resources for staffing needs.
- Perform weekly forklift inspections.
- Help ensure accurate inventory counts.
- Ensure all equipment and tools in the area are in proper working order.
- Assist in running productivity reports.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and orderliness.
- Follow all safety rules.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required. 2+ years of warehouse operations experience preferred.
RF handheld experience required. Certified to operate forklifts, cherry pickers, and swing reach trucks.
Strong proficiency in English communication (reading, writing, verbal) required to comply with safety and operational procedures.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to stand and walk on level surfaces for prolonged periods, talk and hear, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms above shoulder height and below the waist. The employee must lift up to 20 lbs. ~70% of the day and up to 65 lbs. ~30% of the day.
Working Conditions
Non-climate-controlled warehouse.
