Job Description:

Staff Registered Nurse

Utilizing the Nursing Process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating, the Staff Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care, managing assigned personnel, and promoting collaboration among the multi-disciplinary healthcare team.

Education

Associates in Nursing - Required

Experience

2 - 3 Years - Required

Medical/Surgical and/or Critical Care experience in a hospital within the last five years preferred

License & Certification

Professional License with State of Practice - Required

National Certification - Preferred

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required for Critical Care units

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Required for PACU and ED units

Core Job Functions

Conduct assessments and reassessments, communicate changes in patient status to appropriate care providers, and collaborate with the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes.

Facilitate timely discharge and throughput by engaging resources from admission, anticipating discharge needs, and collaborating with management to reduce inefficiencies.

Use Teach Back techniques to assess patient understanding, provide education through various methods, and ensure effective communication tailored to patient needs.

Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, and communicate effectively using SBAR format. Ensure consistent rounding and communication, including present on admission indicators.

Adhere to regulatory guidelines, utilize safety equipment, and promote a safe, therapeutic environment for patients.

Administer medications safely, utilizing the 5 rights, and apply clinical judgment to ensure goal achievement. Hold healthcare providers accountable to care standards.
