Position Overview

The Pearl at East Cobb is seeking an Assistant Program and Outreach Director (Activities Assistant) to join their team!

Shift Details

Part-time. Monday and Friday; every other weekend required.

Summary

Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day delivery of resident-centered activities that promote and integrate the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy to incorporate wellness in all aspects of the seniors’ lives we serve. Ensuring all dimensions (emotional, sense of purpose, physical, social, intellectual and spiritual) are incorporated into the services we provide and embrace.

Responsibilities
  • Refer to the Resident Profile and addendum for every new resident.
  • Assist with facilitating a variety of appropriate and personalized activities which incorporate all dimensions wellness and are available throughout the day and evening with resident care associate participation.
  • Understand the recognition of resident changes in condition, take appropriate action.
  • Assist residents to and from activity room(s) when necessary.
  • In memory care assist the residents to and from Life Skills and other normalizing life enriching activities and routine and assist with engagement.
  • Review, read, notate, and initialize communication log to document and learn about pertinent information and any resident’s physical and behavioral changes.
  • Maintain activity areas in an orderly manner.
  • As applicable, assist with the delegation of daily care of any animal and or plants within the activities program and services, as well as maintenance of records related to this care.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs and crafts.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma; job-related experience preferred in a senior living community.
  • Ability to lead activities and motivate volunteers and fellow associates for their involvement in the social events and various scheduled social activities.
  • Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and Dementia care preferred.
