Job Description
Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is sponsoring the Urban Youth Collaborative
, a program offering students aged 18-24 the opportunity to support individuals with developmental disabilities in the Central West Region. The goal is to expose participants to the human services field and encourage a future career in this sector.
- Provide personal care support and help individuals participate in community activities.
- Encourage interaction and integration of individuals into the community.
- Accompany individuals on community outings and day trips, such as concerts, Patriots training camp, aquatic visits, restaurants, libraries, and local coffee shops.
- Plan, set up, and lead a variety of activities at individual residences, including music, movement, arts & crafts, cooking, baking, and social events such as coffee and ice‑cream get‑togethers.
- Ability to develop and maintain a respectful, caring, tolerant, ethical, and empowering relationship with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Ability to assist and facilitate activities of daily living—household maintenance, self‑care and hygiene, food shopping and preparation, budgeting, leisure activities, and social skill development.
- Capability to assist or lift individuals with physical disabilities and/or limited mobility.
- Applicant must be between 18 and 24 years old.
- Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Schedule: Positions will be on either the first or second shift with specified days off. No vacations will be granted.
Pay: State employees are paid bi‑weekly by direct deposit. Current pay rate is $22.98 per hour.

Title 101 CMR 23.00 ("Regulation") requires certain agency staff to have received the COVID‑19 vaccination and Influenza vaccination, or to have taken required mitigation measures.
