Job Title:

Maintenance Technician (Level II)

The Maintenance Technician (Level II) performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on rides, equipment, and facilities, supporting preventive, predictive, emergency, and cosmetic maintenance. This role ensures that the safest and most effective methods are used to maximize safety, reliability, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Maintenance Technician (Level II) works independently and collaboratively to maintain operational readiness and a safe environment for guests and staff.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform daily pre-opening inspections of all rides and attractions.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and other equipment inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Conduct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on rides, machinery, and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems as they arise, ensuring minimal operational downtime.
  • Use maintenance resources efficiently, conserving tools, materials, and supplies.
  • Provide your own hand tools up to 1 ¼" for general maintenance tasks.
  • Follow technical manuals, service bulletins, and company procedures accurately.
  • Support other maintenance staff and assist with special projects or emergency repairs.
  • Apply strong organizational, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support park operations and safety.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have completed Maintenance Technician (Level I) for at least 1 year or demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Must receive AIMS or NAARSO Maintenance Technician (Level I) certification (or equivalent) before advancing.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record (required).
  • Experience operating industrial equipment (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong mechanical repair and maintenance skills, including troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Functional knowledge of mechanical components (valves, pipe fittings, bearings, motors, gearboxes, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow objectives without direct supervision.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, especially regarding manuals, service bulletins, and documentation.
  • Team‑oriented mindset, able to work in public‑facing and behind‑the‑scenes roles.
  • Commitment to integrity, accuracy, and accountability in all work performed.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lbs. consistently; heavier lifting may occasionally be required.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, stretching, stooping, and reaching overhead.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on hard or uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 140 feet and in potentially hazardous environments.
  • Ability to work extended shifts (up to 18 hours under certain conditions).
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and handle chemicals or cleaning agents safely.
  • Ability to operate various power and hand tools safely.

  • Promote and practice safe work habits at all times.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Comply with all company, local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, hazards, or equipment concerns to management.
