Maintenance Technician

Location: Atlanta

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the University building systems, appliances and infrastructure, including inspecting, testing, repairing, installing, and modifying components in and around buildings. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will prioritize safety and communication in their work and have a strong working knowledge of all plumbing repairs. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be required to perform various repair tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish work efficiently.

Ability to analyze problems and make repairs.

Working knowledge of carpentry, general repairs, and plumbing, in a commercial building setting.

Working knowledge of locks and keys is a plus.

Repair and paint drywall in residence halls.

Working knowledge of computer or mobile applications.

Uses personal protective equipment as required.

Ensures proper maintenance and safeguarding of materials and tools against theft or vandalism.

Complete required documentation of repairs and service information through the campus work order system.

Communicate with management any hazards or risks that require immediate attention.

Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts

Calibrate equipment to provided specifications

Drives utility vehicles to and from work sites.

Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to calls after hours.

Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external constituents in a collaborative environment

Ability to schedule and manage outside vendors when necessary.

Prepare and maintain reports and updates to management.

Complete additional duties as assigned.
