Position is located in Augusta, GA. Position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities- The Contract Staff Security Officer (C/SSO) shall serve as the Office of Security's point of contact for security matters associated with this Contract, Subcontractors and vendors. The C/SSO shall obtain the SITE C/SSO certification (In-House C/SSO Course).
- Coordinate personnel security matters with the SITE Office of Security.
- The C/SSO shall monitor the SP's compliance with the DD Form 254, the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) (Department of Defense 5220.22-M), Industrial Security Regulation (ISR) (DoD 5220.22-R) and Office of Security Services Policy Issuance 10‑10, Industrial Security Program.
- The C/SSO shall notify the designated SITE Industrial Security Officer of any non‑compliance and implement corrective action.
- The C/SSO shall monitor the SP's compliance with the SITE's security program, notify the COR and the Office of Security of any non‑compliance, and implement corrective action.
- Daily use of the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) to manage personnel security clearances, initiating initial investigations and periodic reviews, visit requests, incident reports, reciprocity requests, verification of clearances, and all other actions processed in this system.
- Provide initial security briefings and, if required, briefings for NATO and COMSEC. NATO and COMSEC updates are made in DISS and/or directly to the customer.
- Complete and submit encrypted VARs/VALs and SCI requests.
- Work directly with the information security section to investigate security breaches, identify and resolve security related problems that arise, and finalize appropriate agency reports if required.
- Manage National Industrial Security System (NISS) account records for assigned companies, including Change Condition packages, uploading requested data for DCSA audits and continuous monitoring meetings, communicating with Industrial Security Representative(s) (ISR), entering annual projected security investigation numbers, and uploading certification of incidents, along with other required SEAD reporting.
- Perform additional investigations as necessary to provide complete reports.
- Attend meetings with DCSA and IC security personnel.
- Educate employees about upcoming DCSA facility audits; oversee the semiannual self‑inspections to ensure the company follows through on all remedial actions when identified.
- Serve as the Security expert POC for writing and/or reviewing the security portion of proposals and other contract requirements.
- Engage in ongoing communications with co‑workers as well as company business groups to ensure company‑wide understanding of security policies and procedures.
- Maintain relationships with intelligence community government agencies, other related government agencies, and private sector counterparts.
- 5‑7 years of experience as a federal contractor providing industrial and information security support for government customers.
- Current Top‑Secret clearance.
- Certified as an FSO per the NISPOM requirements (preferred).
