Responsibilities

St Simons By-The-Sea Hospital BH is seeking an experienced Cook/Dietary Aide, responsible for the preparation, presentation, delivery, and serving of nutritious and healthy food to patients and staff.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Demonstrate knowledge of proper food preparation, including receiving, storing, handling, and following recipes.

Prepare and serve food according to menu, number of people, and portion control.

Ensure maintenance of modified diets as instructed.

Handle, prepare, and serve food using accepted techniques.

Receive, inspect, and store supplies properly.

Monitor kitchen equipment for malfunctions and proper temperatures; report issues.

Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of equipment and environment.

Follow safety procedures, including use of PPE and chemical handling, and understand Material Safety Data Sheets.

Complete all required documentation related to Food Service.

Clean and sanitize all kitchen and dining areas to exceed health standards.

Serve meals with professionalism and care, ensuring service excellence.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED (preferred) and prior food service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
