Job Summary
The Quality Auditor supports Production and Laboratory operations through the inspection and testing of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods. This role ensures products meet established quality, safety, and customer requirements. The position requires a strong commitment to quality systems, environmental health and safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct physical and visual inspections of raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to determine conformance to specifications
- Compile, maintain, and document inspection and testing records
- Compare production samples to approved standards and record inspection data and defect information
- Identify and document nonconforming materials and initiate appropriate reporting
- Participate in internal quality system and process audits as a supportive team member
- Follow laboratory control methods and quality procedures when documenting tested samples
- Maintain quality records and ensure proper document control
- Submit supplier claims for defective materials with proper documentation and disposition
- Assist in training production or general technicians in sorting and inspection processes
- Generate required paperwork related to scrap, rework, and root cause analysis
- Actively support the quality management system, quality policies, procedures, and objectives
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through communication, job performance, and safety awareness
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Basic knowledge of quality systems
- Basic computer and documentation skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods
- Manual dexterity required to handle products and equipment safely
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception
- Ability to work rotating shifts and extended hours as needed to meet production demands
