Position: Quality Control (QC) Supervisor
Location: Ellabell

Position Summary

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for planning and directing activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processes, materials, and products.

Essential Functions
  • Oversee performance management and supervision:
    Manage and supervise all QC Team Leaders and Members within the QC Department, ensuring adherence to quality standards and productivity goals.
  • Manage Team Member schedules and attendance:
    Coordinate schedules and oversee daily attendance of QC Team Members, ensuring adequate coverage and compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain Team Member records:
    Record and maintain detailed records for Team Members, including attendance, work hours, training completed, and performance evaluations.
  • Implement corrective actions and improvement plans:
    Identify performance issues and implement corrective actions and Personal Improvement Plans (PIPs) as necessary to address deficiencies and enhance team performance.
  • Make critical and time-sensitive decisions:
    Comfortably make difficult and urgent decisions during assigned shifts, demonstrating the ability to act with minimal oversight as necessary to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to company standards.
  • Assist in the development of Quality Documents:
    Collaborate in the creation of essential quality documents, such as work instructions, procedures, and flowcharts, ensuring clarity and adherence to standards. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required to effectively compile and present information.
  • Monitor and inspect:
    Ensure the quality of products, repairs, workmanship, proper labeling, and allocation of both externally received parts and internally manufactured components. This includes overseeing the staging process to maintain efficiency and compliance with established standards.
  • Manage and monitor torque audits:
    Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, data forms, and the Torque Auditor tool to conduct and oversee torque audits, ensuring adherence to quality standards and process control measures.
  • Communicate effectively:
    Maintain regular communication with supporting departments and management regarding operational, safety, and quality issues. Provide consistent updates and convey quality-related information and objectives to Quality and Production management, supervisors, and Team Members.
  • Prepare daily and monthly quality reports for review by management team.
  • Maintain and manage good quality processes and 5-S standards within the QC Department.
  • Comply with and promote safety in the workplace.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 or more years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in Quality Control within a high-capacity manufacturing environment

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Good Verbal and Written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Mechanical ability, with a solid understanding of mechanical processes
  • Critical thinking ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions
  • Ability to make good decisions and take decisive action in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate at all levels of the organization
  • General understanding and ability to read blueprints with part specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Preferred Education & Experience
  • All items above plus
  • Associate or bachelor's degree
  • Working knowledge of 8D, 5 Why, and six sigma
  • 3-5 years of automotive experience

30% office, 70% production floor
