Position Description Trimmer D/Entry Level
Join our team as a Trimmer D, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and beauty of our community's trees. In this entry-level position, you will learn to prune, cut, and care for trees under supervision. This is a fantastic opportunity for those eager to enter the tree maintenance field and grow their skills. Please be aware that you may face hazards while working near traffic, falling branches, and power lines, so a focus on safety is crucial.
TrimmerC/Mid-Level
As a Trimmer C, you'll advance your skills while supporting public safety through tree maintenance. You will receive on-the-job training and guidance in identifying tree species and characteristics. Attention to detail is imperative as you work to keep our trees healthy and safe.
Trimmer B/Advanced LevelIn the Trimmer B role, you will have increased responsibilities, including assisting in training new trimmers. Your experience will be critical in assessing tree failure risks and ensuring that our practices meet safety standards.
Trimmer A/Lead LevelAs a Trimmer A, you will lead your team in maintaining trees while ensuring safety protocols are followed. You will provide training to others and serve as the point of contact in the absence of senior leadership, making this a key position in our operations.
Duties and Responsibilities Include Trimmer D/Entry Level- Perform tree pruning, removal, brush chipping, and stump grinding.
- Utilize climbing gear, ropes, and ladders safely.
- Operate and maintain equipment including hydraulic tools, chippers, and sprayers.
- Trim dead or excess branches from trees.
- Apply treatments for diseased trees with appropriate chemicals.
- Be adaptable to changes in responsibilities as needed.

- Assess tree failure risks and train other trimmers.

- Lead and train your team effectively.
- An understanding of safety hazards and protocols.
- A valid CDL is required.
- A basic understanding of mechanical systems.
- The ability to complete a proficiency test in climbing, knot tying, and chainsaw maintenance.
- A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to undergo a DOT physical examination if necessary.
- Attention to detail, organization, and strong communication skills.
- A problem‑solving mindset and the ability to meet all physical job requirements.
- Must pass drug and alcohol screenings as per company policy.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (or 21 years if a CDL is needed).
- Authorization to work in the United States is required.
- Experience in tree care or maintenance operations, including equipment such as stump grinders and bucket trucks.
