Kennel Technician

Overview

Animal care includes but not limited to: assisting with daily care of animals, monitoring health indicators, feeding and cleaning, and supporting veterinary professionals in clinical tasks.

• Checking pets in and out, including weighing, monitoring temperature, checking for fleas, cleaning, baths, and brushing.
• Feeding and watering pets.
• Walking canines.
• Administering medications to pets.
• Bathing patients and charting patient records where applicable.
• Cleaning kennels and all parts of the building.
• Holding pets safely and assisting doctors, technicians, and veterinary assistants as needed.
• Collecting samples for tests (such as urine).
• Assisting with procedures, taking radiographs, and performing related lab work.
