A healthcare opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Med Surg/Telemetry experience at a Level 1 Trauma Designation teaching hospital located in Bonaire, GA. This contract position offers the chance to work in a high-acuity setting with patients requiring specialized cardiac and step-down ICU care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to post/pre cardiac and step-down ICU patients diagnosed with CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, Sepsis, among others.
• Manage cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation.
• Perform clinical skills including trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, IV insertion and care, central line management, wound care, and post-operative monitoring.
• Administer and titrate drips related to heart rate and insulin, heparin drips.
• Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team including discharge planning and patient education, particularly pertaining to renal and fluid management.
• Collaborate closely with CNAs who assist with vital signs, glucose checks, patient hygiene, ambulation, turning, and transport.
• Utilize EMR systems (Epic) and medical equipment such as Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and Nova glucose stat strips.

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Minimum two years of Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience.
• Current BLS and BCR certifications required; ACLS and Medical-Surgical certification preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and familiarity with cardiac and med-surg patient care.
• Experience with glucommander and drip titration preferred.

Schedule & Work Environment:

• 12-hour shifts, either 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM.
• Weekend rotation: approximately 5-6 weekends out of every 12.
• Holiday coverage includes one major holiday shift per holiday period.
• No on-call duties.
• Orientation includes 1 day of facility orientation plus educational module work and 2 days departmental orientation.
