A critical care nursing opportunity is available in Bonaire, GA, at a large teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Designation, Chest Pain, and Stroke Center certifications. This 14-bed ICU requires skilled RNs with at least 2 years of ICU experience, including care for medically complex patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care to medical ICU patients with diagnoses such as respiratory and renal failure, sepsis, GI bleed, DKA, stroke, pneumonia, ARDS, cancer, and overdoses.
- Manage chronic ventilators and tracheostomies; monitor hemodynamically unstable patients requiring invasive monitoring (arterial lines, central venous lines, intracranial pressure).
- Administer and titrate vasoactive medications, drips (insulin, heparin), and manage chest tubes, trachs, and PEG tubes.
- Operate ventilator support and assist with bedside procedures such as chest tube and tracheostomy management.
- Collaborate with CNAs and other support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document care using EPIC EMR and utilize specific equipment including VS3 vital sign monitors, Belmont Rapid Infuser, and TABLO.
- Licensed RN with 2+ years ICU experience; first-time travelers welcome.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CCRN preferred.
- Skilled in PIV starts, glucommander, insulin and heparin drips, and invasive line monitoring.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating 6-week schedule with weekend and major holiday coverage.
- Strong critical thinking and ability to manage complex patient conditions in a fast-paced ICU setting.
- 12-hour shifts, 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekends per 12 shifts (6-week schedule)
- One major holiday shift per holiday period, no on-call required
