ER RN - Sparta, Georgia

Location: Sparta

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Emergency Room care to contribute to a busy 22-bed emergency department, including surge capacity, within a 140-licensed bed hospital. This contract position is ideally suited for nurses with at least two years of ER experience, although first-time travelers are welcome to apply. The emergency department manages an average daily census of 85 patients with diverse diagnoses such as chest pain, strokes, diabetes, abdominal pain, motor vehicle collisions, hypertension, and mental health issues.

Schedule:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM
• Weekend rotation: approximately every other weekend across a 6-week cycle (6 shifts total)
• Holiday work required for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve or New Year's Day
• No on-call or floating outside the ER unit

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care with a focus on emergency conditions and interventions
• Administer medications and drips including heparin, insulin, and vasoactive drugs
• Monitor telemetry and utilize advanced equipment such as EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensers, and Phillips monitors
• Serve in various unit roles including charge nurse duties and nurse-phlebotomist tasks
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists

Qualifications &

Certifications:

• Active GA RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required
• BCR certification required
• TNCC and national emergency nursing certification preferred but not mandatory
• Minimum of 2 years ER nursing experience preferred
