JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Director of Nurses in the Care Center, the Registered Nurse will assist the DON and ADON with planning, coordinating, and managing the RN clinical services for residents, and implement care in accordance with TJC, federal, state, and local guidelines, organizational and departmental policies and procedures. The position involves communication with medical staff, other departments, and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality.

It requires self-motivation, creativity, and the ability to function semi-autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

• Administers prescribed medication, operates medical equipment, monitors patient status, records patient information, assists physicians with examinations, and administers treatments.
• Assists in emergencies, including assessing residents, notifying physicians and families, and documenting incidents.
• Participates in staff orientation and ongoing education.
• Responds to calls and call lights promptly.
• Reports equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
• Assists with scheduling to cover staffing needs.
• Ensures residents receive proper and timely care, including assistance with meals.
• Communicates any issues with residents, staff, or families to the Director of Nursing and documents interactions.
• Keeps current with nursing competencies and assists on the floor as needed.
• Monitors LPN/CNA staff to ensure quality and timely resident care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus completion of RN training.
• Management skills including planning, organizing, and communication.
• Unencumbered Georgia RN license and BLS CPR certification.
• One to two years of related experience preferred.
