* Job Description:

** The Director of Nursing is responsible for assisting in all areas of patient care, including physicals, and necessary tests in compliance with State and Federal laws and supervising the nursing staff, including pharmacy technicians and assistants.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties that are assigned.
** Clinical  
· Prepare all paperwork needing MD signature  
· Approve/deny all medical orders per MD  
· Schedule annual physicals  
· Conduct patient education (pregnancy, hepatitis, etc.)  
· Review lab work with patients  
· Complete patient referrals  
· Assess for over sedation  
· Complete charts on patients  
· Schedule EKG’s/review MD’s recommendation regarding EKG results with patient  
· Perform bottle checks as needed  Supervisory  
· Schedule nursing/pharmacy staff  
· Order medical supplies  
· Prepare training and education for nursing staff  
· Conduct weekly nursing staff meeting  
· Make standard audit chart  
· Audit dose changes  
· Attend team meetings  
· Count medication inventory  
· Monitor dosing area for accuracy and efficiency  
· Review all inventory binders to ensure proper documentation of inventory  
· Review 222 binder for pharmacist signature  
· Ensure nursing staff license is current  
· Reconcile inventory reconciliations as needed
