Bi-vocational Pastor

Church Overview

Live Oak Baptist Church, located at 150 Live Oak Road in Aragon, GA is prayerfully seeking a Bi‑vocational pastor to lead us in services and fellowship together. We believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. It is entirely without error, truthful and trustworthy in all its teaching. We believe God is the ultimate author, using men inspired by Him to pen it down.

We are an active and supporting member of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Georgia Baptist Mission Board, and the Polk‑Haralson Baptist Association. We give a percentage of our offerings to support these groups and also local missions like Life Matters Outreach, Camp Antioch, and are involved in Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes.

We consider our church to be traditional in Worship. We have 3 weekly services, Sunday School for all ages, Sunday morning and Sunday evening Worship, and Wednesday evening prayer and Bible study. We average 30‑45 in Sunday School and 50‑70 in morning Worship. We have a husband and wife volunteer team leading our youth group. We also have a VBS each summer.

We are debt free, own our property, and are always available and do help those in need inside and outside our church membership. Our church has seating for 100+ people, a nice fellowship hall, adequate S.S. and education space, and a study for pastor if needed. Our services are live on Facebook.

The church is structured like most rural Baptist churches. At present we have 4 active deacons, choir of 12 to 20 with choir leader along with pianist and organist. The pastor is the only paid staff member.

We are looking for a pastor who preaches the Word of God and is qualified according to I Timothy 3:1‑7 and Titus 1:6‑9. We believe the pastor should have had a calling by the Holy Spirit convicting him to preach God's Word, be spiritually mature, demonstrate the fruit of the Holy Spirit, and be a man of prayer. He should also provide stewardship in being a leader of God's congregation, leading us in a way to grow spiritually in our relationship with God together.
