Overview

We are looking for someone who:

• Has an active prayer life and yearns to learn more about prayer and how to teach us to “pray without ceasing.”
• Is able to provide a solid testimony of their personal faith in Jesus Christ and how they are being nourished regularly in their walk with God.
• Possesses a thorough knowledge of God’s Word and loves to read and teach it. Is curious. Desires to spend time each week in sermon preparation to give us meat and not just milk. Is excited about sharing God’s Word in both a traditional and a contemporary setting.
• Leads with a humble spirit and wants to be a servant-leader, is willing to admit weaknesses and to help us see where we can cover those areas with staff or lay people.
• Communicates with strong interpersonal communication skills and has a good sense of humor.
• Possesses a Master of Divinity or equivalent degree from an accredited seminary and has a minimum of 5 years’ experience pastoring in some role at a reformed church.
• Is ordained in the ECO denomination or willing to do so and accept the Essential Tenets of ECO.
• Has demonstrated proven ability to shepherd a staff and a diverse group of Covenant Partners in growing as disciples who look more and more like Christ.

• Pray for our group of people—get involved in our lives. Model for us an active prayer life.
• Preach sermons that are biblically based, inspiring, and applicable to daily living.
• Lead by example—in a caring, servant-like manner—the staff, Session, and Covenant Partners in spiritual and missional development. Be a shepherd who can model for our staff and session how to shepherd.
• Fulfill denominational duties within the ECO structure.
• Provide (and train elders to help provide) Pastoral Care including visitations and counseling, officiating weddings, baptisms, and memorial services.
