API- Production Control Assistant

Position Summary

Reporting to the Customer Service and Logistics Manager, the Production Control Assistant supports manufacturing operations by managing production schedules, tracking inventory levels, and coordinating workflow to ensure timely order fulfillment.

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and the employee may perform other duties as requested to meet the ongoing needs of American Peanut Ingredients (API). Key responsibilities including updating ERP systems, facilitating material flow, troubleshooting production bottlenecks alongside operations, and communicating with departments like quality, operations, and procurement to maximize efficiency.

• Assist in updating daily/weekly production schedules, coordinating any changes between operations and customer service
• Monitor the progress of production orders, helping to identify bottlenecks or delays
• Verify inventory counts and perform inventory cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels
• Utilize ERP system to maintain accurate records of work-in-progress (WIP)
• Act as liaison between departments (quality, operations, customer service, and procurement) to notify of any schedule changes or production issues
• Assist operations and quality with organizing materials and ensuring proper traceability throughout the manufacturing process

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, and/or warehouse environments
• Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Office (specifically Excel)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various departments
• Highly organized with keen attention to detail for handling data and tracking inventory
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to perform work in a safe manner with no supervision
• Ability to work in an autonomous work environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 ponds
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to adapt and perform other duties as necessary
