Job Overview
Ray Arthur Furniture Ind Inc is seeking an experienced Commercial Millwork Shop Foreman to oversee daily production operations in our commercial millwork facility. This leadership role is ideal for someone who takes pride in efficient workflows, high-quality craftsmanship, and team collaboration.
The right candidate will be responsible for supervising shop staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that all woodwork and cabinet production meet our rigorous quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily operations of the millwork shop, overseeing both personnel and production
- Ensure efficient use of equipment and materials to meet project deadlines
- Maintain high standards of quality control for both shop-finished woodwork and laminate cabinet production
- Coordinate with project management and design teams to align shop output with project requirements
- Supervise and mentor shop employees, fostering a productive, team-oriented environment
- Oversee routine maintenance and performance of shop machinery, including CNC, beam saw, edgebander, dowel machine, and press
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and technical challenges
- Ensure safety protocols are consistently followed across all workstations
- Track and report on production schedules, quality issues, and equipment needs
- Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of shop personnel
- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or lead role in a millwork or cabinet shop
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Proven experience managing a production team and coordinating fabrication workflows
- Strong understanding of woodworking machinery (CNC, beam saw, edgebander, dowel/press)
- Commitment to delivering consistently high-quality products
- Ability to communicate clearly, delegate effectively, and lead by example
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a hands-on leadership style
- No specific licenses or certifications required
