Location: West Point

Position Summary

FIL Team Lead is responsible for assisting the FIL Supervisor and leading team members in their daily processes on the FIL Line and the FIL shuttle. The FIL Team Lead must be able to perform the day‑to‑day activities of the supervisor in his absence and fill other job positions when team members are absent.

Responsibilities
  • Primary
    • Assist Supervisor with process issues, alert Supervisor and AM of any inspection or process concerns immediately
    • Perform every job on the FIL Line, including Inspection, On/Off Conveyor, and FIL Shuttle, and fill those positions when necessary
    • Lead team members daily and ensure all processes are followed to meet customer expectations
    • Ensure every team member has the necessary PPE required for the job
    • Ensure everyone is properly trained on their job
    • Communicate any process change or customer demand to team members
    • Assist the supervisor with ensuring established production, quality, and delivery commitments are met
    • Assist the supervisor with handling personnel issues
    • Perform some of the day‑to‑day activities of the supervisor in his absence
    • Assist with shift start and shift end duties
  • Secondary
    • Communicate and review processes/procedures in place regularly and correct if necessary
    • Ensure everybody is in dress code, mutilation free, and trained to fulfill their job duties efficiently and safely
    • During shift, Team Lead must be visible and available for any questions from team members, Management, or our Customer
    • Drive with trainees (at end of their training) to verify new driver’s training is thorough and successfully completed
    • Monitor inspectors and drivers to ensure processes and safety procedures are in place and being followed
    • Assist in ensuring Cognosos tracker inventory is maintained on the OK line and FIL line
  • Tertiary
    • Communicate effectively with customers, Supervisors, and fellow team members to meet and exceed customer expectations
    • Keep Line Stops to a minimum and discuss any concerns with Supervisor and/or AM
    • Conduct daily Exit Side Audits to ensure customer expectations are met

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Education & Experience
  • Must have HS Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Must have valid Driver's License
