General Manager

Description

This position is for a Warehouse General Manager position of a cold storage facility located in Montezuma, GA. Services include contract warehousing, dry storage, hazmat storage, and temperature-controlled warehousing as well as trucking transportation services. We are seeking an experienced, resilient individual to join our team as a Warehouse General Manager for our cold storage and blast freezer facility .

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage the budget and P&L of the operation
• Establishes and manages operational procedures
• Manage, motivate and mentor all warehouse employees to ensure work is completed;
  Efficiently and effectively in accordance with company policy
• Provide hands-on management of hourly staff including; interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, managing work and appraising performance to maintain a strong company culture
• Provides coaching through observations and provides performance feedback.
• Maintains the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment according to company policies
• Submits work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment to the appropriate contacts
• Coordinate warehouse activities with other functional areas such as customer service and sales
• Maintains relationships with customers to provide a high level of customer satisfaction
• Enforce company policies regarding, standards for sanitation, maintenance, safety, and security
• Monitors facility key performance indicators (KPI) to run a profitable and productive distribution center
• Reports employee hours into the payroll system on a weekly basis
• Ensures compliance with; ISO, AIB, Hazmat and CTPAT and all other applicable regulatory certificates
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read, analyze, interpret and implement; business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations

• Ability to effectively present information

Education and Experience:

• Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent combined with 5 plus years supervisory experience in a warehouse, fulfillment center, distribution center or manufacturing environment.
• Preferred – Bachelor’s Degree combined with 5 plus years supervisory experience in a cold storage and blast freezer facility. Experience in warehouse receiving, freezing, storage and shipment of poultry/protein.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights as required.
• Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
• Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel on occasion.
• Tolerate cold/frigid warehouse environments.
