Maintenance Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Maintenance Assistant
to join our team in Rockmart, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) maintenance and be responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant environment for residents and staff.

• Perform general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing and electrical equipment, fire and sprinkler equipment, H.V.A.C., landscape, carpentry work, painting, and equipment repair
• Must understand and have knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
• Ensure that walls, floor coverings, doors, windows, furniture, and woodwork in the common areas of the community are properly maintained and repaired
• Must have basic prep and painting abilities
• Repair and maintain vacated rooms in a timely manner, including painting walls and cleaning carpets
• Responsible for all in-house plumbing, e.g., sinks, toilets, and bathtubs
• Responsible for minor electrical work within units and in common areas, e.g., light switches, wall outlets, garbage disposals, etc
• Responsible for painting of all apartments and common areas
• Repair, clean, and maintain all carpet, floor coverings, and furniture
• Complete all work orders in a timely manner, noting any additional work completed at the location but not listed on the work order
• Document safety issues as well as physical plant deficiencies related to local, county, state, and federal guidelines
• Assist MS in preventative maintenance and cleaning of community vehicles (buses, cars, and vans)
• Assist with training and development of safety procedures and hazard communications
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director, Regional Maintenance Supervisor, or Administrator
• Respond immediately and appropriately to all accidents and emergencies, based on established protocol

• Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety regulations applicable to SNFs.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with maintenance management software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or relevant degree preferred.
