The JOB

The Director of Finance is a key member of the resort’s executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations for Jekyll Island Club Resort and Jekyll Ocean Club Resort. This role provides strategic financial leadership, ensures strong internal controls, drives profitability, and partners with operational leaders to support business goals while maintaining the highest standards of compliance, accuracy, and accountability.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all accounting, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, internal controls, and audit standards
  • Partner with executive and department leadership to drive financial performance and cost controls
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets; analyze variances and performance trends
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processes
  • Provide strategic guidance on revenue management, labor optimization, and operational efficiencies
  • Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to ownership, corporate leadership, and property leadership

Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in hotel or resort finance
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Proven experience managing audits, internal controls, and compliance
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations and executive leadership
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Hospitality systems experience (PMS, accounting platforms, labor management systems) preferred
