Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our healthcare team in Folkston, GA. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping patients improve their mobility, manage pain, and recover from injuries or surgeries under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Perform a wide range of therapeutic interventions, including modality treatments, therapeutic exercises, gait training, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy, ADL training, and wound dressing
- Accurately record patient progress and response to treatment in medical charts
- Measure and document patients' range of motion, strength, and vital signs as needed
- Report patient status to physicians and other healthcare personnel
- Provide clear instructions to patients and their families on the use of assistive devices and home exercise techniques
- Assist in quality assurance programs as directed by the Physical Therapist
- Maintain technical proficiency in physical therapy principles, concepts, and techniques
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes
- Adapt treatment approaches based on individual patient needs and progress
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment
- Graduate from a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
- Ability to obtain licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Georgia
- Proficiency in physical therapy principles, concepts, and techniques
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in an autonomous environment
- Compassion and patience when working with patients of all ages and conditions
- Basic PC skills, including proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Physical stamina to assist patients with exercises and movements
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and schedules
- Goal-oriented approach to patient care and treatment plans
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and staying updated on physical therapy best practices
- New or recent graduates are encouraged to apply
