About Hidden Creek Recovery & Retreat
Hidden Creek Recovery & Retreat (HCRR) provides residential mental health treatment for adolescents ages 11–17
. Our clients may present with complex behavioral health needs, including self-harm, aggression, suicidal ideation, substance use, trauma, mood instability, depression, and anxiety.
We are seeking Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) who are dependable, observant, and compassionate—professionals who can maintain a calm, structured, and safe environment during overnight hours while supporting adolescents who may be actively symptomatic.
Position OverviewThe Behavioral Health Technician is a vital member of the Hidden Creek Recovery & Retreat System of Care. Under the supervision of the Director of Housing and Transportation
, the BHT is responsible for ensuring client safety, monitoring overnight activity, documenting behavior, and maintaining a supportive, therapeutic milieu throughout the residential program.
- Maintain continuous overnight supervision and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment
- Provide calm, consistent support and positive role modeling for adolescent clients
- Monitor, observe, and document client behavior and overnight activity
- Conduct client counts and maintain accurate documentation
- Supervise self-administered medications as directed
- Assist with overnight structure and routines as established by leadership
- Complete and submit incident reports and immediately notify leadership of safety concerns
- Report medical emergencies, elopements, or ACA incidents promptly
- Complete end-of-shift reports via email to the Director
- Orient new admissions and complete residential intake documentation as needed
- Search new client belongings to prevent contraband entry
- Conduct random residential searches for contraband
- Monitor curfews and ensure compliance with program rules
- Transport clients as needed using company vehicles
- Attend staff meetings and mandatory trainings
- Follow all infection control, safety, and facility protocols
- Report any illness or symptoms of contagious disease to leadership
- Ability to remain alert, calm, and decisive during overnight hours
- Strong crisis-management, problem-solving, and stress-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Knowledge of substance use disorders and their behavioral and emotional impact
- Ability to recognize medical emergencies and take appropriate action
- Familiarity with emergency procedures, overdose response, First Aid, and CPR
- Flexibility to adapt to changing program needs and overnight responsibilities
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- CPR Certification preferred
- Must pass a Level 2 Background Check
- Preferred (not required): 0–1 year of experience working with adolescents in behavioral health, psychiatric, chemical dependency, residential, PHP, or outpatient settings
