Financial Controller

READY For Hire is partnering with a growing land development and home construction company seeking a Controller to oversee the company’s accounting operations and financial reporting. This role will report directly to the CFO and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient accounting processes across the enterprise.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning the month-end close process, improving financial processes, and supporting leadership with accurate financial insights.

• Oversee accounting activities related to horizontal and vertical construction projects
• Lead the monthly close process
  , ensuring accurate and timely financial statements
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Create and maintain a balance sheet reconciliation process
• Establish and strengthen internal controls
• Perform budget vs. actual analysis
• Manage job costing for construction projects
• Oversee the construction draw process
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Assist with annual budget preparation
• Support treasury-related activities
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis
• Identify and implement process improvements within accounting operations

• 5–7+ years of accounting experience
  , preferably within construction, real estate development, or manufacturing
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with job costing and project-based accounting
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
