The roleYou will manage R&D costs in your perimeter, provide insight on actuals, analyze variances, lead month-end close and budgeting activities, and partner closely with Finance Business Partners and R&D stakeholders around the world. You’ll help improve processes and collaboration across global R&D while developing your analytical and interpersonal skills.
What you’ll doMonth-end close:
Prepare accruals and manage postings, monitor inconsistencies and coordinate reclassifications.Budgeting & forecasting:
Review and analyze actuals vs. plan/forecast; highlight variances to Finance Business Partners; coordinate system updates (TM1). Partner with local teams on internal cost budgets and provide commitment data for external collaborations.Management reporting:
Prepare post-close reports; analyze YTD/YTG performance; deliver clear commentary for R&D stakeholders (Power BI, TM1).PO & spend tracking:
Track activities behind R&D POs and engage stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timely receipting (SAP).Business partnering:
Work with Finance Business Partners across R&D to deliver cohesive, seamless support to R&D leaders.Controls & compliance:
Ensure adherence to SOX and internal control requirements.Continuous improvement:
Identify process simplification opportunities and drive tool enhancements.
Bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering) required.
1-3 years’ controllership or FP&A experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
Advanced Excel; keyboard-first proficiency.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and strategic thinking.
Proven ability to build partnerships across levels and functions.
Comfortable working across multiple systems and data sources.
Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organization and prioritization.
Change agent who can propose, lead, and sustain improvements.
SAP, TM1, and Power BI experience preferred.
CMA, CIMA/CGMA, ACCA, or CPA preferred;
Lean Six Sigma a plus. Candidates actively pursuing a credential are welcome.
