Job SummarySouthern Industrial Constructors Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to work out of our Hoschton, GA office. Must have 1-3 years of experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Actively promote and strengthen our core values and culture of Mission First, People Always through everyday actions and decisions.
- Provide exceptional, first-class customer service.
- Assist with the execution and management of the terms of project contracts.
- Prepare and present computer-generated spreadsheets and reports.
- Maintain regular communication and collaboration with the entire project team, including Project Foreman, Project Manager, General Contractor, Architect/Engineer, and other subcontractors.
- Generate, maintain, and facilitate project documentation in the execution of the construction processes for all phases of the project. This includes, but is not limited to, requests for information, submittals, drawings, specifications, purchase orders, material orders, change orders, and close‑out documents.
- Perform material takeoffs from drawings to help generate estimates and changes.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, efficiency, and integrity in all aspects of the work.
- Maintain flexibility with assigned work environments and project locations; may be required to commute to various job sites.
- Attend and conduct meetings as required.
- Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
- Other duties may be assigned as specific project dictates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; OR 2 years’ prior experience in a related field via internships, co‑ops and/or industry employment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi‑task, stay organized, and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability in utilizing a wide range of computer software.
- Engineer‑in‑training certification, Journeyman license, and field experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong interpersonal communication, attention to detail, organization, and follow‑up skills.
Conditions include working in an office, with occasional entry into a shop, busy traffic areas, and warehouses. Occasional exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of the property and effectively use required PPE. Potential job‑site visits.
