About the RoleThe Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician supports the safe and reliable operation of refinery electrical systems, instrumentation, and control equipment at a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) refinery. This entry-level position works under the guidance of senior technicians and supervisors to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of electrical and instrumentation devices throughout the facility. The technician will contribute to safe plant operations, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement while maintaining compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities- Assist with maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of plant instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, and level devices
- Support electrical maintenance activities including troubleshooting motors, MCCs, VFDs, breakers, lighting systems, and power distribution equipment
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment in accordance with established maintenance procedures
- Assist with troubleshooting PLC, DCS, and control loop issues in coordination with operations and engineering teams
- Support testing and verification of safety instrumented systems (SIS), shutdown devices, alarms, and interlocks
- Install, repair, and maintain conduit, wiring, junction boxes, and field instrumentation devices
- Assist with loop checks, point-to-point checks, functional testing, and commissioning activities during turnarounds, outages, and plant startups
- Support troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial communication systems such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, HART, and Foundation Fieldbus (as applicable)
- Document completed work, equipment status, and maintenance findings in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
