Job SummaryRoberts Civil Engineering is seeking a Structural Engineer for our Construction Services division of the company to work in our St Simons Island, Georgia office.
The ideal candidate will have experience in design, structural inspections, assessments, and reports, including the condition of the structure and possible repair recommendations. This position will be responsible for working on a variety of projects with the Construction Services team, including retaining walls, bulkheads, architectural details, etc.
The person awarded this position will be responsible for the following…
Tactical Work- Complete site inspections of structures and reports
- Design structural components for clients to ensure specifications meet project goals
- Review blueprints, plans, and change orders to verify the structural integrity of materials and designs, and perform complex calculations and use modeling methods to ensure correct results
- Observe existing structures and create structural assessment reports.
- Develop technical details and cost estimates.
- Use AutoCAD and other drafting software programs to create 2D design documents and 3D models for individual components and overall structural plans according to client needs and project requirements for deliverables
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Complete projects to meet and exceed quarterly goals and metrics
- Keep weekly task lists for work to be accomplished
- Develop new clients in the target market area
- Understand RCE Systems and ensure compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering, plus a minimum of eight years of relevant work experience
- Proficient with AutoCAD or Revit
- Decisive with excellent critical thinking skills
- Good written and verbal communication abilities, including preparing and giving presentations
- Professional Engineer license with capability of getting licensed in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to travel to various project sites
- Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas
