Adjunct Instructor of Sociology – Online
Young Harris College invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track position to begin in August 2026. Duties will primarily include online teaching SOCI 1120 Intro to Sociology for Young Harris College Dual Enrollment. Young Harris College Dual Enrollment is the YHC program in which high school students take college courses to receive transferable college credits while still earning credit toward high school graduation.
The courses are pre-built in Moodle and are 16 weeks long. The instructor is tasked with facilitating the courses, providing prompt feedback, tracking student participation and communicating frequently with students.
- Facilitate online course delivery for SOCI 1120 Intro to Sociology within the Dual Enrollment program.
- Provide timely feedback and track student participation.
- Communicate frequently with students to support learning.
- Ensure alignment with program expectations and Moodle-based course structure.
- Master’s degree in Sociology or a related field.
- Strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts undergraduate curriculum.
- Comfort with technology;
Moodle experience is a plus. - Course enrollments are capped at a reasonable size.
- Instructors are compensated per course.
