Minimum Requirements
- Education: Certification by the State of Georgia in Education SRT4 – SRT7 and content area specialization as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
- Experience: Successful completion of an accredited teacher training program.
- Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Skills in working effectively with people; effective writing and speaking skills; ability to employ a variety of instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners; ability to deal with multiple tasks.

To create a flexible academic program and a classroom environment that is favourable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students, which will motivate them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to progress through elementary, middle, and high school. To establish good relationships with parents and fellow staff members.
Performance Responsibilities- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, such as investigation, group discussion, and presentation where students are inventors and designers of work in which they are authentically engaged.
- Meet the school’s student achievement goals and monitor gains of students by keeping appropriate records.
- Participate in professional development opportunities that enhance the school’s continuous improvement plan.
- Use communication and interpersonal skills to satisfactorily interact with students, parents, school personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Adhere to school and system procedures and rules regarding Special Education, SST Plans, discipline procedures, assessment of students, Section 504 Accommodation Plans, and Board Guidelines.
- Teach at an appropriate instructional level.
- Provide content development with a teacher‑focused and student‑focused approach.
- Build lessons for transfer: provide initial focus, content emphasis and linking, lesson summaries.
- Promote student engagement, monitor progress, respond to performance, and support students.
- Use time efficiently, maintain an effective physical setting for instruction, and maintain appropriate student behaviour.
- Follow professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, students’ records, parents, and colleagues.
- Interact in a professional manner with students and parents, be available for conferences per system policies, facilitate home‑school communication, maintain confidentiality, and work cooperatively with administrators and parents.
- Comply with school system and state administrative regulations and board of education policies: conduct assigned classes, enforce regulations regarding student conduct, be punctual, and provide adequate information and materials for substitute teachers.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and file reports promptly.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities per school policy.
- Comply with contract conditions and demonstrate professional practices in teaching.
- Model correct use of language, oral and written.
- Demonstrate accurate and up‑to‑date knowledge of content, implement designated curriculum, maintain lesson plans per policy, assign reasonable tasks, act professionally, assume responsibility for the total school programme, safety, and good order.
