Under general supervision, will provide instruction to students in welding technology courses to include college and/or high school students during day classes. Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques. Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping required. Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates knowledge of current in-field procedures.

Follow the approved course syllabus. Completes all reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner and maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned properties. The successful candidate will be required to work 4 nights at CFE and Afternoons edule will be adjusted to ensure a 40 hour week is met and maintained.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate appropriate teaching techniques for welding technology courses.
  • Administer testing and grading procedures, maintain grade books, and perform other record-keeping required by the program.
  • Maintain effective oral and written communication with students and staff.
  • Follow the approved course syllabus and complete reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.
  • Work schedule requires 4 nights at CFE and afternoons at ATCO with a 40-hour week commitment; schedule will be adjusted accordingly.
Minimum Qualifications

One of the following: a Diploma or higher in the teaching discipline with verifiable credentials, qualifications, or competencies appropriate for teaching the course content, OR In-field certifications, AND three (3) years of experience in-field.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to meeting all other minimum qualifications, the highly desired candidate will possess one or more of the following: a Diploma or higher in the teaching discipline with verifiable credentials, qualifications, OR competencies appropriate for teaching the course content, OR In-field certifications, AND Five (5) years of experience in-field.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is $50,000/yr. This position is full-time and includes standard State of GA benefits such as leave accrual, options for health & other supplemental benefits, and retirement. This position may qualify the successful candidate for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. This position is funded in whole or in part by State/Local/Tuition funds.

Background Investigations

Pursuant to college policy, a thorough background investigation, including a criminal history records check and employment history reference checks will be performed for all candidates offered employment. Other checks such as Motor Vehicle Records may be conducted for any candidate receiving an offer, as well as internal candidates prior to being promoted or transferred into a position with the college.
