Teaching as a Profession Teacher (SY26-27)
Position Summary:
To provide standards‑based instruction aligned to the Georgia CTAE Teaching as a Profession pathway; to develop students’ understanding of the teaching profession; and to maintain a safe, orderly, and legally compliant learning environment in accordance with district policy and applicable law.
- Provide instruction aligned to GaDOE CTAE Teaching as a Profession standards and district-approved curriculum.
- Deliver instruction using research‑based practices, including instructional strategies, assessment methods, differentiation, and data utilization to improve learning outcomes.
- Differentiate instruction for students with disabilities in compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and district accommodation plans.
- Assess and document student progress, maintaining accurate grades, attendance, and records in compliance with FERPA, GaDOE, and district procedures.
- Maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment, enforcing district Code of Conduct and supervision requirements under O.C.G.A.

- Instruct students in the safe use and care of equipment and instructional materials associated with the CTAE program.
- Support CTSO participation as required by CTAE program standards, including advising students on leadership and professional skill development.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic progress in accordance with FERPA and district guidelines.
- Collaborate with school, CTAE, and district staff and participate in required faculty meetings and professional learning.
- Use district instructional technology and data systems for instruction, reporting, and communication.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and district information as required by state and federal law.
- Follow the GaPSC Code of Ethics for Educators in all professional conduct.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Principal or designee that fall within certification, legal, and professional guidelines.
- Fulfill mandatory reporting obligations, including child abuse (O.C.G.A. 19-7-5), bullying, and safety concerns.
- Knowledge of GaDOE CTAE Teaching as a Profession curriculum and standards.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies, assessment practices, and differentiation.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws (IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, Title VI, Title IX, O.C.G.A. Title 20).
- Ability to maintain accurate instructional and compliance records.
- Ability to use district instructional technology and data systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain ethical conduct and professional boundaries under GaPSC Ethics Rule 505-6-.01.
Ability to perform standard classroom duties including standing, walking, communicating, using technology, and occasional lifting of instructional materials.
Qualifications Profile Certification / License- Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification appropriate to the Teaching as a Profession / CTAE assignment, or eligibility through an approved pathway.
- Must meet certification requirements under O.C.G.A. 20-2-200.
- Must maintain GaPSC ethics clearance, fingerprinting, and background check requirements.
- Valid driver’s license or ability to provide transportation.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Education or a related field (GaPSC requirement).
- Master’s degree preferred but not required by law.
- Prior successful teaching experience.
Equipment:
Use of district-required instructional technology, computers, classroom equipment, and CTAE instructional materials.
Travel Requirements:
Travel to district buildings, required trainings, CTAE meetings, and professional learning events as required.
