Facilitate communication between students who are deaf/hard of hearing and those individuals involved in the educational process using sign language and other communication resources needed to accommodate hearing impaired students who are qualified to receive these services. Provide support to students who are deaf so that they can be independent and meaningfully participate in the activities of the school setting.
Required QualificationsHold a valid Educational Interpreter License from the GA Professional Standards Commission OR Successful completion of the EIPA with a minimum score of 3.5 or higher OR Hold a valid certificate through the Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf (RID).
Essential DutiesThe Coweta County Board of Education reserves the right to accept equivalent qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate and acceptable.
