The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity for a Psychiatrist within the Montana State Hospital.
The Montana State Hospital (MSH) in Warm Springs provides inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults with serious mental illness. MSH is the only public psychiatric hospital in Montana that serves people admitted from communities across the state.
Job Overview: The role collaborates with leaders from multiple disciplines to enhance staff knowledge, skills, and abilities critical for high performance. This position provides diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric inpatients through supervision of multidisciplinary treatment teams, direct service psychotherapy-chemotherapy, and preparation of psychiatric-legal evaluations and reports.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Knowledge of the major psychiatric diagnoses and how the diagnosis may interrelate with medical symptoms and illnesses.
Understanding of the use of the common psychotherapeutic agents and of the statutory requirements relating to the practice of medicine.
Ability to work comfortably and congenially within a team-oriented work setting.
Meet minimum qualifications:
Formal residency training as a psychiatrist yielding demonstrated competence in medical treatment.
Must be able to become licensed to practice medicine in the State of Montana. Preferably Board Certified in Psychiatry, or eligible for certification.
