Qualifications

Position Summary

The Director of Business Development oversees the provision of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service activities within the Business Development Department and representatives. The Director of Business Development is responsible for achieving the desired utilization of the organization’s continuum of care through the effective application of marketing/sales principles and methods. The Director of Business Development is responsible for implementing the facility’s strategic marketing plan, enhancing the facility’s brand/image, coordination of all sales and business development activities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Strategically analyzes and designates target markets for Business Development Representatives and territory/account assignments, taking into account the strengths and weaknesses of each Business Development Representative. Insures that expertise and personal styles of team members are insightfully matched to prospective referral sources.
  • Provides short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis and interpretation of market data.
  • Leads and oversees the development and growth of profitable new business opportunities. Develops and implements marketing strategies to assist the facility in meeting business objectives.
  • Monitors the performance of each Business Development Representative against departmental goals. Assists Business Development Representatives in developing individual sales plans, territory management and routing schedules.
  • Acts as a resource to Business Development team members and department managers.
  • Accompanies each Business Development Representative on a minimum of a quarterly basis, or more often as needs arise, to assess selling techniques, document outcomes, provide constructive feedback, retrain and redirect, as needed. Develops Performance Improvement Plans as-needed.
