Account Specialist – HL-GA Battery Company LLC

We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to handle a variety of accounting functions, including maintaining financial records, preparing reports, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Maintain and update financial records, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded in the company’s general ledger.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices are paid in a timely manner and payments are accurately recorded; follow up on outstanding payments and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and there are no discrepancies between company records and bank statements.
• Prepare and post journal entries to reflect financial transactions, adjustments, and corrections in the general ledger.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Assist with the month‑end and year‑end closing process, including preparing necessary documentation, ensuring accuracy, and reconciling all accounts.
• Ensure the accuracy of tax filings and assist in preparing tax returns (sales tax, income tax, etc.) as required by local, state, and federal authorities.
• Provide documentation and assist with internal and external audits; ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial records for audit purposes.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts; provide reports and analysis to management to support financial planning and decision‑making.
• Monitor and report on operational expenses and help identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements; recommend improvements for internal controls and accounting processes.
• Support treasury functions, including account set‑up, SAP firm banking entry, and daily bank reconciliation/closing.
• Train team members on finance system usage.
• Assist with any ad hoc accounting tasks, special projects, or financial analyses as needed.
• Utilize the Expense Reporting System (ERS).

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in manufacturing or automotive environments.
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP) and general business software (Excel).
• Knowledge of Federal and State tax laws pertaining to manufacturing is a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and influence others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
