Reporting directly to a Juvenile Probation Supervisor or Field Counseling Supervisor, responsible for providing case management and supervision of youth on assigned caseload using trauma-informed practices. Level II of II in Juvenile Probation.

  • Understands, practices, and promotes the vision of Williamson County Juvenile Services
  • Maintains daily focus on the department's service philosophy when interacting with youth, including emphasis on Developmental Assets, Developmental Relationships, SPARK identification, Motivational Interviewing, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)
  • Performs supervisory duties in the absence of assigned supervisor
  • Trains and mentors new Probation Officers
  • Engages with youth on caseload to develop relationships and focus efforts toward diversion of youth from commitment to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD)
  • Models positive behavior and leadership to youth in all interactions
  • Redirects youth behavior using appropriate trauma-focused interventions, when necessary
  • Performs investigations and evaluations of offenders to submit social histories and/or recommendations to relevant court(s)
  • Interviews and counsel offenders and families in development and rehabilitation
  • Appears in juvenile court and testifies in hearings regarding youth on caseload
  • Provides supervision of youth on Conditions of Release, monitor compliance with Electronic Monitor for youth placed on Deferred Prosecution and Court Ordered Probation
  • Maintains compliance with daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly contact and case plan standards
  • Coordinates and transports juveniles for various appointments outside the facility, and for placement in out-of-county and TJJD facilities
  • Coordinates, supervises, and facilitates special programs, such as Family Nights (to include evenings and weekends)
  • Develops relationships and communicates regularly with personnel in law enforcement, schools, courts, community organizations, and other social service agencies
  • Readily complies with departmental / countywide policies and Texas Juvenile Justice Department standards
  • Supervises youth on probation to include deferred, formal and out of county placements
  • Supervises First Offender Program and SEARCH Program youth
  • Collaborates with all relevant staff and counselors to provide case management supervision to residential caseload of juveniles on highest levels of supervision
  • Attends expulsion hearings in each school district throughout the county, as needed
  • Conducts and facilitates the intake process for youth placed into the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) and the CORE therapeutic residential program
  • Works closely with JJAEP school personnel in recording attendance and progress
  • Assists with compiling, monitoring, and recording statistical data for reports to TJJD
  • Attends all meeting and trainings as required
  • Performs special duties as assigned
Residential Case Management Assignment
  • Manages residential cases from intake to release and through the Aftercare program
  • Responsible for managing case plans and files in accordance with Texas Administrative Code Ch. 343
  • Prepares and participates in audits from the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TAC Ch. 343)
  • Supervises youth on high and intensive supervision in a residential and community setting
  • Prepares paperwork for court and testimony, when necessary
  • Conducts and facilitates the intake process for youth placed into the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) and the CORE therapeutic residential program
  • Acts as a liaison to parents whose child is court ordered to complete the residential treatment program
  • Acts as a liaison to public school, community counselors, and mentors
  • Performs data entry in accordance with probation and the residential facility standards (TJJD)
  • Manages and coordinates services for youth transitioning from the residential program to the community (Aftercare)
  • Works closely with JJAEP school personnel in recording attendance and progress
  • Assists with compiling, monitoring, and recording statistical date for report to TJJD
  • Acts as the Case Manager’s Supervisor in the absences of the Supervisor
