Position Type: PRN
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Cook ensures that the resident meals are properly prepared and apportioned according to the resident’s diet specifications, facility procedures, and prescribed dietary and sanitary regulations.
Essential Functions- Prepared food items on assigned/scheduled menus
- Maintains sanitation of equipment and utensils, work area, storage, area, and serving area
- Follow proper food handling procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Texas Food Handler Certificate is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic methods
- Knowledge of Universal Precautions and rules that govern hazardous waste
- Previous experience in skilled nursing facility is preferred
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
